👋🏼Hello my friend!!!
My name is Carly, and I’m so happy you’re here! ☺
As both a Family Nurse Practitioner (APRN, MSN, FNP-C) and Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner® (FNTP), trained through the Nutritional Therapy Association and the Institute for Functional Medicine, I blend the best of conventional medicine know-how with a heart-filled, holistic and integrative approach.
This isn’t just my profession — this work is deeply personal to me. By the age of 16, I had three chronic autoimmune diseases and a laundry list of symptoms. I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 12, Celiac Disease at 16, and Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia (POTS) at 18. Conventional doctors offered little in the way of answers or reassurance, and I left appointments feeling disheartened time and time again.
After feeling hopeless for many years, functional medicine saved my life– eliminating my laundry list of symptoms and taking me from housebound and sleeping 18 hours a day, to where I am today– thriving, energetic and able to pursue my passion for health. I am a lifelong learner and have completed both my Bachelor of Science in Nursing, as well as my Master of Science degree in Nursing and became a Family Nurse Practitioner. I am also pursuing my certification in Functional Medicine from IFM (expected November 2024).
I am passionate about the innate healing capability of the body and especially the art of caring for patients in a way that supports the body’s optimal function rather than interfering. Restoring the body’s innate healing capacity may include addressing the mental, emotional and spiritual factors as well as your nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle choices, and incorporating strategic supplements as needed to restore the body’s function.
When I’m not serving patients, you can find me running, reading, enjoying time with my husband Josh, taking long walks with my Goldendoodle puppy, Oakley, and leading worship at my church. 💕
